Med Safety 24.1.6

The Med Safety app is a smartphone application designed for reporting suspected adverse effects, also known as adverse drug reactions, to National Competent Authorities. This tool facilitates the reporting of adverse effects related to medications, allows users to track previously submitted information, and provides official news and alerts concerning the medications they are currently using or interested in.

Significance of reporting adverse effects

While medications aim to be safe and efficient, they can still result in side effects. Reporting adverse effects is essential as it helps identify unknown issues related to these medications. Adverse effects can sometimes hinder patients from completing treatment, leading to more severe complications. By reporting adverse effects, patients promote communication with healthcare professionals and assist in identifying and investigating lesser-known or poorly documented adverse effects.

The Med Safety app is a part of the WEB-RADR project, which is backed by the Innovative Medicines Initiative Joint Undertaking (IMI JU) under grant agreement number 115632.
